Jakarta founded in 1995

BCG in Jakarta was founded in 1995 and is located in the heart of the city’s central business district. Jakarta-based consultants work on projects throughout the region, gaining exposure to the breadth of the region’s economy through hands-on experience with a diverse mix of clients.

Jakarta is one of five offices in Southeast Asia, and Jakarta-based consultants work on projects throughout the region. This office and the other SEA offices in Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore work together as an integrated system with constant interaction among regional colleagues, sharing opportunities to transfer among the offices and to gain hands-on experience with a diverse mix of clients.

The client portfolio includes leading firms in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia, state-owned enterprises, multinational corporations, and government agencies. Jakarta has helped its clients put in place structural changes that have played a key role in the development of Indonesia’s economy.

BCG Jakarta’s success is underpinned by an ability to attract and retain the best people. We recruit across the world and offer opportunities for dynamic and rewarding professional careers. Our staff includes individuals with eclectic backgrounds: the Jakarta office employs people of more than ten nationalities, and educational backgrounds range from business administration to engineering, astronomy, and public policy. The office provides the opportunity and challenge for individuals to work in diverse teams on projects that have significant impact on clients’ businesses.

Social Impact

BCG’s commitment to Indonesia extends beyond its work with our corporate and public-sector clients. We are actively driving change with our nonprofit partners as well. We assist nonprofits and NGOs with issues ranging from operational effectiveness to organizational improvement. BCG teams mentor university students, allowing us to help develop the nation’s future business and political leaders. Separately, our long-standing commitment to pro bono work has extended from raising funds, which are matched dollar for dollar by the company, to hosting events that help inspire street children to become productive members of Indonesia’s future.
