In 1975, BCG's Munich office was the first BCG office to open in Germany. Since then it has become one of the company's largest offices worldwide with 500 consultants and administrative staff. The office itself is housed in an extensively renovated building in the very heart of Munich. A glass ceiling covers two courtyards around which the offices are arranged and from the rooftop terrace employees enjoy an expansive view of the quiet Alpine peaks. The streets themselves reflect the pulse of Munich life with people shopping and diners gathering in small pubs and bistros.
Munich is one of Germany's largest cities and its 1.3 million people are known for their joie de vivre. Cultural treasures lie tucked within the city waiting to be explored; the lakes and mountains surrounding the city are the perfect setting for skiing or hikes; and the famous Oktoberfest celebration attracts more than 6 million visitors every year.
At the same time, the city is the economic center of Southern Germany and BCG's Munich office serves clients in all industries. Many of Germany's biggest companies have their headquarters in Munich, among them companies with business activities in insurance, finance, automotive, tourism, engineering, software, and technology.
Our consultants work for clients all over Germany, Austria, and other European countries. As many of our clients are international companies, all consultants are fluent not only in English but often also in other languages. Many consultants have earned degrees from German Universities—not only in business administration, but in a variety of fields such as engineering, natural sciences, or humanities. Others have an M.B.A. from well-known business schools such as Harvard, Stanford, or INSEAD.
