Singapore founded in 1995

Overview

The BCG Singapore office was founded in 1995 and is located in the heart of the central business district at Raffles Place, overlooking Marina Bay and historic sites along the Singapore River. In recent years, the office has experienced unprecedented growth, providing a dynamic and exciting work environment. The Singapore team is driven to help shape businesses and create impact for clients.

BCG Singapore is one of four offices in Southeast Asia, and Singapore-based consultants work on projects throughout the region. The office and the other SEA offices in Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur work together as an integrated system with constant interaction among regional colleagues, sharing opportunities to transfer among the offices and to collaborate on projects for clients in numerous locations throughout the region.

The client portfolio includes a mix of top Singapore and Southeast Asian companies, government agencies, and multinational corporations. BCG Singapore has helped its clients put in place structural changes that have played a key role in the development of Singapore’s economy.

In October 2012, BCG established the Center for Business Excellence in Singapore to help companies competing in an increasingly turbulent world. The Center has three pillars: knowledge, strategy, and enablement. The Knowledge Hub houses a team of topic specialists in industries and business functions. Its rich repository of Asia-based knowledge will complement the work of the Center’s Strategy Institute, which will conduct research to support the success of ambitious Asian organizations. The Leadership and Talent Enablement Center (LTEC) is the Center’s crucial third pillar. BCG will help companies plan their leadership and talent pipelines and build leadership and talent capabilities.

BCG Singapore’s success is defined by an ability to attract and retain the best people. We recruit across the world and offer opportunities for dynamic and rewarding professional careers. Our staff includes individuals with diverse backgrounds. You’re as likely to bump into a neuroscientist or former Ferrari engineer in the hallway as you are to encounter someone with an MBA.

To enrich life outside of work, the BCG staff organizes social gatherings, events, and outings that feature a strong local flavor in order to build camaraderie among this diverse and highly competitive group.

  • Technology, Media & Telecommunications. Supported a leading Asian mobile-telecommunications provider in strategic business planning
  • Transportation, Travel & Tourism. Delivered substantial cost savings and institutionalized strategic sourcing capability at a large industry player
Social Impact

BCG Singapore’s educational initiative business@school aims to build bridges between businesses and local secondary schools. With BCG consultants coaching students in developing real-life business skills, the students experience business first-hand over the course of ten months and acquire key skills for their future working lives.

Since 2005, Singapore staff has provided financial support to Beyond Social Services (BSS)—a local charity dedicated to reducing delinquency among children and youths from less privileged backgrounds. Singapore staff generously contributes though monthly payroll deductions, and the office provides a dollar-for-dollar matching contribution. BSS uses these funds to pay for transporting needy children to and from school.

In 2011, Singapore began to engage BSS at a more intimate level by organizing an awards presentation ceremony at the Singapore Zoo for children who have performed above expectations in school. The award winners not only performed well academically but also showed extraordinary determination and positive attitude about attending school regularly. BCG in Singapore staff also gave awards to mothers who have supported their children’s endeavors despite hardship in their personal lives. It was a moving experience for the BCG volunteers to see the pride in the faces of the award winners as they celebrated their incredible achievements with friends and family.
