BCG regularly participates in the World Economic Forum's annual China meeting and several regional events, which take a closer look at many of the critical issues these areas face.
Since 2007, BCG has officially supported the Annual Meeting of the New Champions—also known as “Summer Davos”—held in China. The theme of the most recent meeting was “Mastering Quality Growth,” a topic of fundamental importance for business competitiveness in the twenty-first century.
During the event, BCG hosted a roundtable discussion among dozens of business leaders on key trends in China, and we also launched the Forum-BCG collaborative report Redefining the Future of Growth: The New Sustainability Champions at a live press conference. Additionally, BCG president and CEO Hans-Paul Bürkner discussed globalization on a CNBC televised panel "The Backlash to Going Global," alongside IMF deputy managing director Min Zhu and other leaders.
BCG actively participates in all of the regional forums including those in Africa, East Asia, Europe and Central Asia, India, Latin America, and the Middle East.
For example, BCG recently supported the 2011 World Economic Forum on Latin America in Rio de Janeiro, which focused on "Laying the Foundation for a Latin American Decade." At this meeting, we took part in a panel discussion on boosting productivity through credit and also hosted a meeting of corporate leaders to address the issue of talent shortage.
