As part of our collaborative projects with the World Economic Forum, BCG has been providing consultants to work as "secondees" with the Forum since 2007. In 2010, we had three BCG secondees working for the Forum on the topics of talent mobility, mobile financial services, and sustainability. In 2011-2012, eight BCG secondees are working with the Forum on several new projects.
The secondees are assigned to work for about a year in specific areas of the Forum. In this position, they play key roles in researching the topic and helping to manage the project—from initial research and analysis through to its completion and the publication of any related reports. They also are considered as Forum staff and help prepare their group to present the topic at some of the Forum's meetings, giving them opportunities to participate in high-profile gatherings of global and regional leaders.
