Jeffrey Binder has been named president and CEO of Biomet and a member of the company’s board. Jeffrey’s experience includes general management, marketing, and business development roles with orthopedic medical-device companies.

Broadcom has named Eric Brandt its new senior vice president and chief financial officer. Eric formerly served as CFO of Allergan and was CEO of Avanir Pharmaceuticals.

Amit Choudhary will lead the integration of Kanbay into Capgemini and report to the CEO of the financial-services strategic-business unit. Amit was the vice president of corporate strategy for Kanbay, which was acquired by Capgemini in February in a $1.25 billion deal.

Vanu, a leading software radio innovator for the wireless infrastructure industry, has named Clayton M. Christensen to the board of directors. A distinguished Harvard Business School professor, entrepreneur, former White House fellow, and noted author and expert on the subject of disruptive innovation, Clayton has more than 20 years of experience in strategic, market, and technological innovation.

George David, CEO of United Technologies, has been recognized as one of the world's best CEOs by Barron's.

Christophe Douat works for the venture firm Matignon Investissement & Gestion in Paris, where he modified the strategy of the fund to focus on medical technologies. The firm is now raising Matignon Technologies II, which is expected to be the largest European fund in the field and should reach $100 million by the summer.

Deutsche Börse has named Thomas Eichelmann chief financial officer.

Gilbert & Tobin, a fledgling Sydney law firm, has brought Chris Freeland on board as its chief operating officer.

Ilene Gordon, senior vice president of Alcan and president and CEO of Alcan Packaging, has been elected chairman of the Flexible Packaging Association. Ilene has been a member of FPA's board since 2000, most recently serving as executive vice chairman.

IAC has promoted Jay Herratti to president of the firm’s Citysearch unit. Jay most recently served as IAC’s senior vice president of strategic planning.

Franz Herrlein, a former board member at Unicredit, has been named a member of the board at Dresdner Bank.

Ralph Heuwing has been named chief financial officer of Dürr.

VA Software has named Scott Howe to the board of directors. Scott is president of Drive Performance Media, a division of aQuantive, a global digital-marketing company.

Edward Kaufman has been appointed the head of Alfa-Bank’s investment banking. He will be responsible for the development of strategy and the introduction of new investment-banking products.

ACP Capital, an integrated finance and asset-management company focused on the European small- and medium-size enterprise market, has named Alexander Koch a director, with responsibilities for the infrastructure sector and the German market.

PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi was one of the people honored by the publication India Abroad for achievements in various fields and service to the community. Indra was chosen Person of Year 2006 for her accomplishments in the corporate sector.

Rocco Rossi wrote an article in the Toronto Globe and Mail about embarking on what he called his "real-life MBA," describing how he walked an ancient pilgrimage route in Spain and brought back some life-changing lessons. Rocco is chief executive officer of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

David Scott, a former senior executive at both Intermec Technologies and PeopleSoft, has joined Entellium as senior vice president of sales and marketing. David will be responsible for developing and managing Entellium's product marketing, corporate communications, and sales growth strategies.

Gary Shenk, president of Corbis, will assume the role of CEO, effective July 1. Before joining Corbis, Gary was a founder and general manager of FlixMix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Universal Studios that was one of Hollywood's leading media-licensing agencies.

David Soskin has cofounded Howzat media, a fund that invests in early-stage Internet companies. The company’s first three investments are WAYN.com, a travel social networking site; Zoomf.com, a London property-finding site; and TrustedPlaces, which publishes user reviews of clubs, pubs, and restaurants in London. David also runs Cheapflights.com, a leading publisher of flight deals.

Simon Trussler has taken the position of senior vice president at Health Dialog, a leading provider of care management and analytic services.

Takuro Ueji has joined Vestar Capital Partners Japan as a vice president.

Global Equities Management, a hedge fund firm that specializes in emerging markets, is expanding its private-equity affiliate with a concentration on Turkish companies. To help with this enterprise, Natalie Yukselen-Alink has been appointed managing director of GEM Private Equity Partners.
