FAQs about the Program

Although I go to XYZ School, and you spoke about the NYC Bridge Program can I apply to the Program in Chicago?

No; Bridge to BCG (B2BCG) is a regional program. Candidates may only apply to the B2BCG nearest their campus e.g. a Yale student may not apply to San Francisco B2BGC and a UCSF student may not apply to New York B2BCG.

If I apply and am accepted to Bridge to BCG in XYZ office do I have to apply to that office for a job?

No; you will attend the Bridge to BCG Program closest to your campus/home, but you are not required to apply to the host office for full-time. Often times candidates who attend Bridge are interested in many different BCG offices across the globe. When you submit your Bridge to BCG online application you will be asked to submit your top three office preferences for full-time employment.

If I am not accepted to Bridge to BCG can I apply for full-time job?

Yes; B2BCG is limited in size and so we are not able to accommodate all qualified candidates. You may absolutely apply in the fall for a full-time job.

I know I have a conflict with the Bridge to BCG date in that the host office advertised, can I apply to another program?

No; Candidates may only apply to the Bridge to BCG Program closest to their campus or home.

I will not finish my program in 2013, I may finish in 2014. When should I apply to B2BCG?

Students may apply the spring prior to finishing their program/degree. However, If you are currently a practicing MD or in residency, or a post-doc, the 2013 graduation date requirement does not apply.

I'm a Masters candidate, may I apply to B2BCG?

If you only have a masters degree (not a JD/PhD or MD degree) you are not eligible for the workshop. But we would be happy to receive your full-time job application in September.

Is there an interview for B2BCG?

Yes; our selection for B2BCG is based upon resume screening, a brief series of essay questions, and a phone interview. At BCG we're interested in getting to know you beyond your resume and hope to understand why you're interested in a consulting career.

What should I highlight on my resume to apply to B2BCG?

BCG looks for ADC candidates who have illustrated a history of achievement & leadership inside & outside the classroom, someone who's a stellar communicator, and passionate about problem solving.

Candidates should highlight in their resume not only their academic qualifications but also the ways in which they've begun to look beyond academia for experience.

Are the Bridge to BCG essay questions required?

Yes, all candidates are required to submit the separate 500 word total essay response in addition to their resume and cover letter. Candidates can upload this document as an attachment during the online application.

Are travel and expenses covered if I'm accepted to Bridge to BCG?

Yes, all travel and accommodations are covered for out of town guests. In addition all meal and reasonable expenses associated with the program are covered for all attendees.
