Knut Akselvoll (Copenhagen, 2008–2010) has joined Ramboll as a member of the group executive board, with responsibility for the geographic dimension of the organization. In this position, Knut will head the development of all country business units.

Michael Bauer (Munich, 1994–1998) is an entrepreneur in residence at a venture capital firm, where he is being paid to invent a startup company. Michael has set up shop on the second floor of Foundation Capital’s Menlo Park offices to pursue his dream of creating an energy company from scratch. His business venture was featured in the New York Times.

Sally Blount (Chicago, 1983–1985) has been named the dean of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Sally has 20 years of experience in higher education and administration and was previously vice dean of the Stern School of Business at New York University.

Colin Carter (Melbourne, 1990–2000) has been named the new government ambassador for business action to encourage Australian business to play a part in the economic development of indigenous communities. In this position, Colin will be at the forefront of the Australian government's efforts to encourage the private sector to play an active role in indigenous employment.

Felix Colsman (Munich 1999–2005) has been promoted to managing director of Minimax, a global fire-protection company. In his new role, he is in charge of Minimax`s global business with industrial fire risks such as the power-generation, oil and gas, marine, steel, and automotive industries.

Erol Değim (Chicago, 2002–2006) has moved to Istanbul from New York and has been appointed the chief risk officer at Koç Holding, a Turkish conglomerate that is one of the BCG 100 Global Challengers and also a Fortune Global 500 firm. Previously, Erol worked for UBS.

Reed Midem, a Paris-based organizer of international exhibitions and marketing services, has appointed Anne de Kerckhove (London, 1998–2000) director of the entertainment division. In this newly created post, Anne will oversee Reed Midem’s MipTV, Mipcom, MipJunior, and MipDoc television events and its music-industry trade show, Midem.

Albrecht Enders (Cologne, 2002–2004) has joined IMD in Lausanne as professor of strategy and innovation.


Ryan Garino (Chicago, London, 1997–2001) has been named cohead of the Citadel Investment Group’s convertible-bond strategy.

The management board of ING Bank Slaski SA has appointed Cesar Gonzalez-Bueno (Madrid, 1989–1990) to the supervisory board.

Providence Equity Partners, a global private-equity investment firm specializing in media, entertainment, communications and information companies, announced that Charles Gottdiener (Chicago, 1990–1993) has joined the firm as a managing director focusing on Providence’s portfolio-management activities.

ArjoWiggins Security, which supplies bank note paper to central banks and official-document solutions to governments, has appointed Olivier Guize (Paris, 1994–1996) director general.

Andreas Haaf (Munich, 1998–2003) has been appointed managing director of Healthways International, a German market leader in providing disease-management programs for chronically ill patients.

Microsoft executive Scott Howe (Chicago, Melbourne, Sydney, 1994–1999) has been appointed to the board of directors of The Center for Medical Weight Loss—a three-year-old business that is empowering physicians to help patients fight obesity.

Frieder Kuhn (Munich, 1998–2006) has been named deputy general manager of Puma Germany. In this position, he will be responsible for strategic and financial planning, control, operations, and customer service.

Thomas Liedtke (Düsseldorf, 1995–2000) has recently taken on the role of director of global product management for iSoft Group, an information technology provider in health care.

John Mulliken (Washington, Boston, 2004–2010) has joined e-commerce retailer CSN Stores as vice president of strategic initiatives. He is responsible for a number of projects, including CSN Local, a new program offering geo-targeted advertising on CSN Web sites to local furniture retailers.

Rubberduck Media Lab, a Norway-based provider of off-deck mobile TV and mobile radio services, has named Erling Paulsen (Oslo, 2002–2007) CEO. Erling was previously CEO of Aspiro Mobile Solutions.

Kristin Peck (New York, 1999–2004) has been named senior vice president of worldwide business development, strategy, and innovation at Pfizer. Most recently, she was senior vice president of worldwide strategy and innovation, playing a leadership role in the integration of Wyeth's global operations after Pfizer acquired the company last year.

Markus Pflitsch (Munich, 1997–2001) has joined the Munich-based international communication agency Avantgarde Gesellschaft für Kommunikation as managing director and CFO.

Steve Poizner (Menlo Park, 1980–1983) is campaigning as a Republican candidate for governor in California.

Mischa Reis (Frankfurt, 1997–2000) has been named vice president, corporate strategy at Avery Dennison Corporation.

Westpac regional general manager Mike Schwartz (Sydney, 2003–2006) has been named to the board of directors of Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast.

Okmetic has appointed Kai Seikku (Helsinki, 1993–1999) president of the company. Kai previously served as CEO of HKScan Corporation and as CEO of Hasan & Partners.

Matthias Tomenendal (Düsseldorf, 1995–2005) has been appointed academic director of the Institute of Management Berlin (IMB) at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (Berlin School of Economics and Law).

Francis Turina-Malard (Paris, 1998–2000) has become an associate at the French consulting firm Cepton Strategies Paris.

Bookseller Barnes & Noble has named Tracey Weber (New York, 1995–2000) executive vice president, textbooks and digital education, Barnes & Noble.com. Tracey will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Barnes & Noble's suite of digital education products and services.

NextiraOne, an expert in communications services, has appointed David Winn (Munich, 1982–1986) CEO. David previously worked for American Express France and IBM Europe, and he was CEO of the European telephone equipment and services provider Tenovis.

SeamlessWeb, an online food-ordering business, has named Jonathan Zabusky (San Francisco, 2001–2005) president. He is responsible for all aspects of the company globally, including sales, marketing, partner relations, technology, operations, finance, and human resources.
