At BCG I have found everything that is important to me in a career.

Working here has given me intellectual challenge while also providing a high degree of autonomy and frequent opportunities to make a significant impact. In addition, I work with colleagues whom I both respect and enjoy spending time with.

In my time here, I have had a wide variety of experiences, each of which might be encountered in other careers, but all of which certainly could not be found in any other single profession. I have had the opportunity to engage in complex problem solving, deliver structured communication, and implement creative and innovative solutions to yield new results.

Casey earned a BA in mathematics and Spanish from Rice University.

She then worked as an instructor in Vanderbilt University’s mathematics department before earning her PhD in mathematics from Vanderbilt in 2007.

Since joining BCG, she has worked on projects in the education and health care fields.

Why did I join BCG? The reasons are numerous—the company’s reputation, the clients, the scope and variety of IT projects, the level of contact, impact generated, diverse team backgrounds, and finally, the room you are given to maneuver.

One of my first projects showed me that BCG is defined by all of these. It was exciting and made me proud to see how the CEO of a large company informed shareholders, analysts, and the media of a new IT strategy, with tremendous operating and corporate impact, based on work done by our team. Since then, nothing has changed. It's amazing what you can do at BCG.

Juanjo holds a master's in management of TIC from the EOI and has a degree in telecommunications engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Juan joined BCG in 2001 after having worked for Vodafone and Telefónica.

Contributing to insight and positive change were major drivers when deciding to pursue a PhD, and also when deciding to expand my experience beyond academic science.

My first case at BCG involved helping the World Health Organization and the Roll Back Malaria partnership to increase their effectiveness, strengthening them in their global battle against malaria. The case was built on combining medical understanding with organizational know-how, practical effectiveness, and global experience.

As well as offering personal satisfaction, it immediately illustrated the magnitude of what we, as an organization, can achieve. 

Nina holds an MS in biomedicine and a PhD in molecular neurobiology from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.

She also has research experience from Columbia University in New York and Hôpital la Salpêtrière in Paris.

Nina joined BCG in 2006.

I’m an excellent example of just how much BCG really focuses on diversity. I’m a physician with a career in researching cancer genetics—and I’m building a career in management consulting at BCG.

Since I’ve joined, I’ve had the chance to improve efficiency at hospitals in Southern Europe, support a wide variety of investors in evaluating the health care space in the Nordic countries, as well as work in all segments of the pharmaceutical value chain in the United States and Europe. To round off my experience, I’ve also completed projects in the industrial goods, energy, and high-tech industries.

I received a lot of support from a more senior physician at BCG in making the transition from academia to business. Surprisingly, the analytical part was quite easy. The hard thing for me was communication: describing the insights from the analysis to people not intimate with every detail. Having learned that skill I feel I'm much more effective in all parts of business life.

Tommi holds an MD and PhD degree from the University of Tampere, Finland. Tommi conducted post-doctoral research in cancer genetics at the United States National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health, before joining BCG's Helsinki office in 2000.

Tommi is focused on serving BCG's European health care and private equity clients.

After my Ph.D I wanted to broaden my horizons and step into the business world.

Leaving the world of research was daunting. I was afraid I would lose the chance to satisfy my curiosity and independent, free-thinking approach to issues. Then I joined BCG and discovered I could have all of this – and more.

Initially I worried my lack of commercial experience would put me at a disadvantage. In fact, the opposite was true. Working in teams from a broad range of backgrounds is one of BCG’s key strengths. Diversity of experience and nationality creates a stimulating culture, enabling us to approach problems from unconventional perspectives and to find the right balance between creativity and analytical rigor. I am able to create value for the client and have an impact day to day.

Eleonora joined BCG in 2006 and has worked on a variety of projects in the energy, financial services, and private equity sectors.

Before BCG, she worked as a research fellow in biomedical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. Eleonora holds an MSc in chemical engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy and a PhD in biomedical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). She also holds postgraduate degrees in statistics and information technology from ETH.

As graduation neared, my biggest decision was not which company to join but whether to join one at all. Staying in academia had been my dream for years. Yet the more I learned about consulting—and BCG in particular—the more I realized how much it had to offer. A consulting career meant exposure to a seemingly infinite number of industries and topics. Grad school could leave me with a PhD and no job, but working for BCG would open doors. Best of all, BCG offered a truly flexible career path.

My summer at BCG convinced me I was making the right decision. I love my work at BCG. It’s creative but still grounded in fact and experience. My teammates inspire me with their intelligence, insight, and respect for my opinions. At BCG, I can help make the world more efficient and successful, one company at a time.

Meg joined BCG in 2007, and her work has spanned a range of topics, with a concentration on consumer goods.

She graduated first in her class from Duke University, where she earned a double major in medieval and renaissance studies and economics and a minor in history.
