Mathias Korder

Project Leader, INSEAD class of July 2011

The feeling of solving some of the toughest business problems alongside a team of inspiring peers—while having fun—is unexplainable

I joined BCG because I wanted to learn how business "really works" and to have what it takes to join the next wave of business leaders.

I started my BCG career in the Sao Paulo office after completing my MBA at INSEAD. The importance and diversity of projects I work on is one of the things I love about BCG. In the last three and half years I have worked in a variety of industry and functional practices: from shaping the future of one of the largest global food brands to helping a major oil and gas company reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.

Additionally, BCG lets you carve your own path, including mobility opportunities: after two years in Sao Paulo I transferred to the New York office to continue to advance my BCG career and increase my breadth of experiences.

Hamid Maher

Principal, INSEAD class of December 2009

Working at BCG means daily professional development within a passionate, stimulating, and enthusiastic team.

I chose to join BCG after my MBA at INSEAD in order to participate in the development of BCG in Casablanca. I found precisely what I was looking for: entrepreneurial spirit, a stimulating work environment, and a unique opportunity to be involved in the transformation of an emerging market.

I particularly like the "esprit de corps" prevailing within the local team, as well as the strong involvement of consultants in office life. A large number of consultants from other offices reinforce our team, bringing an international dimension to our projects and multiplying our learning opportunities. Nine different nationalities are represented in my current project team.

INSEAD class of December 2009, BCG Alum since June 2015

Joining BCG over 10 years ago was definitely the best career decision I could have made: at BCG I found the most talented group of people I will for sure ever have the chance to work with; I had room to grow and chart my own path; I was challenged and encouraged to push my limits; I met great people and made friends for life; I cried, I smiled, I laughed and I was tremendously happy.

I feel I had the most amazing and complete of experiences: internship, full time, international assignments, associate abroad, social impact, MBA, B-School case study, training, project management, client service… but also marriage and kids. And then it comes a time in life when one needs to be bold and make tough but daring choices.

I have chosen to leave BCG and decided to join one of the largest Portuguese wine companies as Head of Corporate Strategic Planning and Controlling.

As I move on, I leave 1/3 of my life behind. BCG shaped the person I am today and made me grow in so many good ways. I will definitely miss BCG: next week, next month, next year, in the next 10 years… It brings me some comfort though, to know that every once in a while I will be on the client side and BCG will keep being part of my life.
