Mariam Jaafar joined the Boston office of The Boston Consulting Group in 2006. She is a core group member of the Marketing, Sales & Pricing and Financial Institutions practices and she leads the Women@BCG initiative in Southeast Asia. Her interest in technology, financial services, public sector, and travel and tourism have guided her client work at BCG to serving clients in the technology and communications, hospitality, and financial services sectors.
Mariam has expertise in asset management and wealth management, as well as retail banking and capital markets. She recently led the definition and piloting of a new branch operating model for a Fortune 100 insurance company. She also worked on the organization redesign for a leading property and casualty insurance company, including helping the client to identify design principles, clarify roles and accountabilities, and design and implement a new organization structure.
Mariam participated as a panel member in the Symposium on Empowering a Smart Digital Nation that took place in Kuala Lumpur in August, 2015.
Prior to joining BCG, Mariam worked for Vertex Management, where she was responsible for evaluating and managing venture capital investments in high-tech start-ups. She has also worked at Temasek Holdings in the financial institutions investment team. She is fluent in Bahasa.
