How Governments Are Upping Their Game in Digital

Governments are making progress in their transition to the digital world, as citizen usage and satisfaction with online government services are improving. Still, the greatest challenges lie ahead, according to Miguel Carrasco, a BCG partner and managing director.

Miguel Carrasco leads The Boston Consulting Group’s Canberra office and is a core member of the Public Sector and Technology & Digital practices. He specializes in digital transformation of government and public-service delivery.

Miguel has extensive experience developing strategies, operating models, business cases, and implementation plans for major change and reform projects. He has worked with a range of clients on customer service, one-stop shops, efficiency and effectiveness reviews, and organization design.

Since joining BCG in 2000, Miguel has worked on a number of large-scale technology-driven strategy and business transformations in social services, disability, communications, treasury and finance, immigration, and defense, and across a range of private-sector industries, including banking, consumer goods, and industrial goods.

Miguel is a member of the Institute of Public Administration and the Australian Computer Society. Before joining BCG, he was a member of the strategy practice at Andersen Consulting.
