Peter Jenkins is a member of the Financial Institutions practice at The Boston Consulting Group. He brings more than 25 years of experience in consulting in financial services, including 16 years in Europe and ten years in the Middle East.
Peter has extensive strategic and operational experience in the financial services industry, particularly with large-scale transformation programs and wealth management. Examples of his work with clients include formulating a domestic strategy and two-year transformation program designed to reposition a major Islamic bank and accelerate its profitable growth and restructuring the international operations of a major bank serving the Middle East and North Africa, to stem losses and improve the overall competitive position. He has also reorganized the corporate banking arm of a major UK bank, helping to implement a shared services approach that reduced costs by 20%.
Other projects have included branch distribution strategy for a large retail bank, a major change program for a global consumer bank, a growth strategy for a regional bank, and a restructuring program for a regional financial services group, drove a group restructuring program to rebalance the portfolio and capital deployed to improve future growth and returns
Prior to his consulting career in the Middle East, Peter worked at Booz & Company and spent five years at Standard Chartered Bank as group head of strategy and global head of wealth management (based in Singapore). He was a member of the global group executive committee.
