At BCG, Allies bring a sense of collaboration and excitement to their teams. They create an atmosphere of trust and support in which people can do their best work. Csaba seeks a new perspective.
You'll be successful at BCG if you are passionately seeking the opportunity to be challenged and learn something new every day.
My background is in technology management and industrial engineering, but BCG has exposed me to financial institutions where I have encountered digital transformation. As a result, I now passionately seek the opportunity to work on strategic topics related to digital disruption across various industries.
What I find amazing about BCG is that I learn something new every day because I am constantly challenged and surrounded by inspiring colleagues. For me, it is very motivating to directly see the impact of the work we do. The decisions that companies make can have significant impact on a region or even a country. For example, my first case as an associate was developing strategy for a Greek bank to recover from the crisis.
Csaba holds a mechatronics engineering degree from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and a manufacturing management MPhil from the University of Cambridge.
Q: What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?
A: BCG offered me the opportunity to work in Dubai as a visiting associate. At that time I was only 21, and it was a very positive experience for me to feel that that they trusted me enough to take on the assignment. I was working on strategy development for the corporate banking segment of a local client. With the mentoring of other consultants from the team, I had to carry out complex analyses on the client database and develop key insights. This was a great experience to learn how to succeed in an unknown industry in a new environment.
Q: What’s the biggest impact you have had with your work?
A: I was working on developing the strategy for a Greek bank to recover from the crisis and embark on a sustainable growth path. As a part of the BCG team, my task was to develop a banking model that simulates the effect of the planned initiatives on the bank’s figures and functions as a top management cockpit as well as for decision making. At the end of the project, the client was really happy with the result and decided to incorporate that model in its daily operation.
Q: If you could compare what you do with any other job, what would you say?
A: At BCG, you always feel that people are empowered and motivated to perform at their best. There is a unique drive in the colleagues that creates a special environment, where a new entrant will be changed in a very positive way. I really like that my work is very intense and challenging—and that it also offers the opportunity to gather experience from a variety of industries and practice areas.
