Project Leader, Brussels
At BCG, Visionaries navigate complexity with ease. They use their insight and intuition to identify the solutions that will create lasting impact. Lotte connects the dots to see the bigger picture.
What I appreciate most about BCG is the opportunity for personal development—a wide range of industries, topics, and international experiences combined with a culture of support and commitment to personal growth.
After completing my studies in chemical engineering, I joined BCG as an associate. One of the aspects I appreciate most about my career at BCG is the opportunity for personal development. Looking back at my years at BCG so far, I am amazed at the opportunities I have been offered to define my own path.
In 2013, I had the opportunity to join BCG’s Chicago office for a year as part of an exchange program—a great chance to gain experience in many ways. As a project leader, I have again started on a new journey, learning many new skills. I am now working mostly in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, where I have found my true passion.
Lotte joined BCG in Brussels in October 2011 as an associate. She holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the KULeuven. During her master’s, she spent one semester at the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine in Nancy, France.
Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG?
A: My main reason for joining BCG was to boost my personal development. By working on many different projects across a variety of topics, your learning is accelerated. And on top of that, BCG is focused on developing its people through intensive training, career advice, coaching, and mentoring. It was simply the ideal place to start off my career.
Q: What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?
A: I have had the opportunity to participate in a range of international experiences at BCG. I have worked on international project assignments with international teams (such as in London and Paris), as well as participating in a BCG exchange program, relocating to BCG's Chicago office for a year. BCG offers a wide range of options, and it's up to every individual to choose his or her own path.
Q: What’s your home office environment like?
A: BCG’s Brussels office is a great environment to work in. It's a midsize office, which means there are plenty of interesting projects across industries—and at the same time, everyone knows each other. It's very easy to feel at home here. If I ever leave BCG, it's the people I would miss the most.
