Since joining The Boston Consulting Group in 2005, Irina Gaida has been one of the key members of the firm's Energy practice, focusing on the oil and gas industries. She currently leads the Energy practice in Russia, and her main interests lie in strategic, operations, and organizational issues at vertically integrated oil companies (VIOCs), and in due diligence/PMI support.
Irina has led PMI, TSR-based strategy, organizational restructuring, operational effectiveness, and investment strategy development projects. Her work includes an M&A search for a major company seeking to enlarge its presence in Russia, a development and production operational efficiency project in Russia for a major Russian VIOC, and an HR strategy for a major Russian NOC (including modeling demographic gaps on the Russian upstream labor market).
As a member of the firm's Energy practice, Irina is closely involved in several global studies on topics such as fuel retailing in the BRIC markets and gas market developments.
Prior to joining BCG, Irina worked as a strategy consultant on various projects for industrial goods, fast-moving-consumer-goods, health care, and financial services companies in Europe and former CIS countries. She also worked as an operational and financial auditor for United Technologies Corporation in London and Hartford, Connecticut, and as an audit consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in St. Petersburg.
Irina is a fluent speaker of French and English, as well as her native Russian.
