Amy McKnight Fazen

Head of HBS Recruiting

Amy McKnight Fazen is the Head of HBS Recruiting at BCG. She joined the firm’s Boston office in August 2011. Prior to joining BCG, Amy was Vice President of Business Operations at XL Hybrids, a MIT start-up. She also worked in corporate finance at the TJX Companies and as a strategy consultant for both Altman Vilandrie & Co and Cambridge Strategic Management Group. Amy graduated from Colgate University and holds a S.M. from the MIT/WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography. Amy also received a MBA from MIT Sloan, where she was a Forte Fellow and Co-President of the MIT Energy Club. In her spare time she enjoys biking and spending time with her husband and two daughters, Addie and Reid.

James Foley

Global Specialist

James Foley, Project Leader, Boston, first joined The Boston Consulting Group as a summer consultant in 2013, and rejoined full-time in 2014. His cases have focused primarily on retail, healthcare, and technology, and he has worked on topics including strategic workforce planning, operational enhancement, and merchandizing strategy. Prior to BCG, James worked at CVS Caremark in the Corporate Strategy and Business Development group and subsequently joined Product Innovation and Management. Before CVS Caremark, he worked as an Investment Banking Analyst with ThinkEquity LLC in New York. James holds a BA in English from Trinity College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In his free time, James enjoys hanging out with his newborn Henry and also enjoys playing squash, golfing, fishing and hiking.

Larry Shulman

Recruiting Partner

Larry Shulman is a senior partner and managing director and is responsible for global recruiting at HBS. Larry has extensive experience in the management of diversified global businesses focusing on both corporate and business unit strategies. His areas of consulting expertise include strategy, diversity, and industrial goods, among others. Larry joined BCG in 1979 after graduating from HBS as a Baker Scholar. Over the years, he has served as head of BCG's Chicago, Dallas and Monterrey, Mexico offices, head of BCG's strategy practice, and head of BCG's operations in Australia and Latin America. Larry is the author of Competing on Capabilities: The New Rules of Corporate Strategy, Management Lessons of Premium Conglomerates, and The End of the Public Company - As We Know It. Larry holds a BA in Political Science and English from Brown University. He has also completed graduate work in communications at the Annenberg School of the University of Pennsylvania. Among Larry's hobbies are naval history, cinema (Larry frequently hosts film screenings for BCG) and amateur forestry (he and his wife have property and woods in rural Michigan).
