Dr. James Kent is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group's Health Care practice, specializing in payers, providers, and health care systems. He leads the firm’s provider work across Europe. He joined BCG’s London office in 1997 and spent a number of years in the Boston office as well.
His case experience ranges across many industries on topics that include strategy, organization, driving quality, reducing costs, transformation, and postmerger integration.
James is a physician, has earned an MBA from INSEAD, and has worked as a consultant for more than 20 years. His primary area of focus is health care, and he leads BCG’s work with the National Health Service. He is also part of the team driving BCG’s work on value-based health care and the implications of real-world outcomes on health care.
Before joining BCG, James was a practicing physician at the National Health Service. He also worked for Booz Allen Hamilton and Accenture. He has written articles for BCG and for Health Affairs and Health Service Journal and has spoken at a number of conferences on health-related topics.
