Annemarie Is a Passionate Seeker

Executive Assistant, Zurich

At BCG, Seekers go deep into the challenging issues our clients face. Their curiosity empowers our teams to facilitate change and add value to society. Annemarie champions uncommon ideas.

From my point of view, personal development means self-motivation and self-responsibility. What I really appreciate in my work is that BCG offers a wide range of opportunities for each individual.

In Annemarie’s Words

When I think about BCG the picture of a watch comes into my mind. Every person is like a gear, smaller and bigger ones. Each single gear is needed and has its own function. They fit together perfectly. As a result they create something important, like time.

As an executive assistant, my job description mainly means being a support person. The tasks are multifarious, and every day has its dynamic timeline. An interesting benefit is that I get to work with colleagues from all departments. I often also need input from them to complete my work. I am a key component in the organizational process, and my focus is on the optimization of the procedure. At BCG, I quickly realized that every person can learn something new from someone else, and this is how teamwork is continuously improving. You often hear people ask, “What do you think?”

About Annemarie

Annemarie holds a degree in people and organization development from the University of Innsbruck.

Q: What inspires you about BCG?

A: I am inspired by the different people working at BCG. Diversity is encouraged globally. Not only are my colleagues specialists with different expert know-how and analytical mindset but they are also conscientious, motivated, caring, supportive, and ambitious. This combination is the key for long-term success.

Q: Why is BCG a good place for a woman to work?

A: Nowadays, it is very important for a woman that her employer actively supports women in different stages of their lives—for example with part-time models. BCG is continuously trying to encourage the female quota in consulting as well as generally in leadership roles. Intercultural exchange is essential.

Q: How would you describe the BCG community?

A: What really surprises me about BCG is the familiar and comfortable atmosphere of our work lives and the flat hierarchy of the firm despite the international and global context. The attitude that "nothing is impossible” is quite common, and it motivates employees to achieve whatever they want. My view is that that attitude works so well because of the many different people with different cultural backgrounds working at BCG.
