The real obstacle for global challengers is not how to establish a presence in new markets, BCG’s Sharad Verma reveals. It is how to create a harmonized global organization.

Sharad Verma joined the Mumbai office of The Boston Consulting Group in 1999 and transferred to the New Delhi office in 2000. He moved to the firm’s New York office for a year in 2003 as part of BCG’s Ambassador Program. Sharad is a core member of the Industrial Goods practice, working mostly with automotive companies on strategy in rapidly developing economies. He has a special interest in globalization.

Sharad has worked with several industry organizations, including the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers across a range of contemporary industry topics. In recent client work, Sharad has led discussions on joint ventures, supported multinational corporations on their India marketing, and worked with leading Indian companies going global.

He has coauthored many BCG reports and articles, including the Global Challengers series.
