Senior Partner & Managing Director

Growth of Foreign Direct Investments

BCG’s Burak Tansan discusses the relationship between foreign direct investment and GDP—and the trends that will trigger an expected 10-11% growth per year.

Burak Tansan rejoined The Boston Consulting Group in 2010 to establish BCG's Istanbul office. He is a core member of the Financial Institutions, the Global Advantage, the Industrial Goods, and the Insurance practices, and he is the managing director of BCG Turkey.

Burak also leads BCG's Global Advantage practice in BCG's Italy-Greece-Turkey (IGT) System. He has senior-level experience across multiple industries, with a specific focus on banking, insurance, consumer/retail, industrial goods, and conglomerates. His specific consulting project experience includes large-scale transformation and PMI programs for leading Turkish and multinational companies, governance and organizational model redesign for a leading Turkish holdings company, and portfolio assessment and governance models—among many others projects.

Prior to establishing BCG in Turkey, Burak was the executive vice president in charge of strategy and corporate communications at Akbank and has also held board positions at major Turkish companies.
