Marcel joined The Boston Consulting Group in November 2003, primarily advising health insurers, hospitals, and companies in the financial industry. The focus of his project work is on strategy and corporate development as well as organizational topics.

He is currently based in Switzerland, but he spent a significant amount of time working on international assignments in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. He has also participated in BCG’s Global Ambassador program.

Marcel leads recruiting for BCG Switzerland and serves on BCG's Career Development Committee as well as on the European Trainer Core Group.

Some of his recent project work includes conducting a strategy audit and supervising the definition of the new five-year strategy for a European health insurance group, defining the new organizational structure of a Swiss health insurer, facilitating target screening and merger negotiations for a leading European health insurance group, and overseeing the conceptualization and implementation of a new carrier for a European sickfund. They also include running various commercial/organizational effectiveness programs for an international health insurer, optimizing the claims department of a European health insurer, supporting the definition of a multi-year strategy of a leading European hospital group, and conducting a strategy review of a leading global private bank.

Prior to joining BCG, Marcel worked as cofounder of two start-up companies (Internet and professional services firm) and was appointed visiting fellow at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University).
