In Sandro's Words

I first got in contact with BCG from the client side, when BCG designed the international strategy for a bank I was working for. The work impressed me, and I decided to give strategy consulting a shot. I picked BCG for its reputation, expertise, and global reach—but also for its people, since I was impressed by the interviewers I met during the recruiting process.

Ten years later, having worked in three different BCG offices and taken a leave to study at Harvard, I can't imagine another company that could deliver as well on the promise of a flexible career in a truly international, challenging environment. But it is the people aspect that continues to impress me. Be it Berlin, New York's Wall Street, or Puerto Rico—to name just a few places my work brought me to—one meets the same type of exceptionally bright, driven, and fun colleagues.

About Sandro

Sandro holds an MPA in development economics from Harvard, and an MSc from European Business School Germany. Prior to BCG, he was a consultant at the IFC/World Bank Access to Finance Group, as well as a trade finance analyst for a German bank in Brazil.


Q: What is a typical day like for you?

A: Right now, the only "typical" part of my day is when I wake up early to play a little with my baby girl Antonella, and when I arrive home at 6:30 pm sharp to be there when we put her to sleep. What happens in between is impossible to describe with the word “typical." Every day is very different, depending on the project, its phase, the client, and my own team.

Q: When did you know you belonged at BCG?

A: When I transferred offices the second time, and for the second time bonded instantly with my officemates. The type of people I met and the way I interacted with them was very similar to the experiences I had in my prior offices. It made me realize that the BCG DNA somehow seems to be stronger than any potential cultural differences.

Q: What inspires you about BCG?

A: The breadth of topics one single organization dominates. The type of people it attracts and retains. The growth trajectory it has had over the past decades. The ambition it has to be at the center of topics that matter to companies and society.
