Ian Colotla

Ian Colotla leads The Boston Consulting Group’s Operations practice in the Nordic region and is a member of the firm’s Lean Experts Network and the change management team in the People & Organization practice. He is also a member of BCG’s Health Care, Industrial Goods, and Consumer practices.

Ian has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, primarily on topics related to lean manufacturing, innovation, and operations improvement and transformation. He has extensive experience in container shipping and ports, as well as process industries, chemicals, white goods, food and beverages, electronics, biopharma, medical devices, financial services, and private-equity due-diligence operational assessments.

Ian has also worked on lean transformations, continuous improvement programs, innovation programs, production system design, and large-scale cost-reduction programs.

Before joining BCG in 2007, Ian held various positions in leadership at Danfoss, including head of the lean program in the heating division and senior director for ball valves, and he was responsible for factories in Denmark, Poland, Russia, and China. He was also vice president of the lean office in product supply for Novo Nordisk.

Ian is an integral part of BCG’s Operations Center in the Nordics, one of ten global operations centers that serve as hubs for comprehensive operations support and offer tailored, fully integrated solutions to optimize operations for long-term success.
