Greg Is a Dynamic Explorer

Product Manager, Boston

At BCG, Explorers are unafraid to embark on new journeys. They try new solutions to untangle complex problems and drive transformational change. Greg challenges the status quo.

The best part about working at BCG is your coworkers. Whether it be in Boston, Hong Kong, Sydney, or anywhere in between, you’ll always find the same intelligent, dedicated BCGers willing to help you find a solution to any challenge.

In Greg’s Words

My background is in product management, specifically centered around products in the health care information technology space. BCG has allowed me to take this experience and apply it to a wide variety of industries and capabilities. Supply chain efficiency, branch network optimization, retail whitespace analysis, and more. The list grows every day.

What consistently impresses me about BCG is the willingness of my colleagues, regardless of title or seniority, to objectively evaluate each new idea on a case-by-case basis. Never have I heard the statement, “Well, this is the way things have always been done.” If you have a good idea—and can prove it—you’ll be given full support in order to pursue it. This mind-set is incredibly empowering, and makes me excited to go to work every day.

About Greg

Greg holds a degree in management from Tulane University.

Q: What did you learn in your first year on the job?

A: During my first year at BCG, I learned how valuable personal relationships are to your success at the firm. Our clients trust us to solve incredibly challenging problems in high-stakes environments. As a result, you must be able to trust every member of your team to deliver on their aspect of the project. A face-to-face meeting with your colleagues can go a lot further toward building this relationship than continuous e-mail correspondence.

Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?

A: The best way that BCG has allowed me to grow professionally is by letting me define my own goals for personal and professional growth. I joined the firm in a new role, which means that there wasn’t a defined promotional path or set-in-stone performance benchmarks. BCG allowed me to set my own goals and define my own priorities, and continuously helped me gauge my progress toward each goal along the way.

Q: What’s your home office environment like?

A: The Boston Center for Analytics is an incredibly diverse office. The variety of roles and job functions we have here, all mixed together in a single location, results in a uniquely collaborative work environment that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. Data scientists, expert consultants, researchers, senior managers, and software engineers all sit and work right alongside each other, and our ability to quickly and efficiently collaborate with one another allows us to find unique solutions to complex problems.
