Project Leader, Johannesburg
At BCG, Innovators view the world from unexpected angles. They bring creativity and a fresh perspective to every challenge they face. Jeanne connects the dots to see the bigger picture.
BCG taught me that it's not just about finding A solution but rather to create as many options as possible so that we can find THE solution.
My background is in global business—that is, the intersection of different cultures and business. BCG has given me the opportunity to not only work on global projects but also work around the world—from my internship in the Washington DC office to full-time work in London and now to a one-year Ambassadorship in Johannesburg.
Regardless of which office I go to, the BCGers I meet are consistently some of the most brilliant, grounded, and curious minds I have ever met. From concert pianists to social entrepreneurs, my teammates represent a wide array of backgrounds that make it impossible to have a boring conversation.
Jeanne has a bachelor of art in international studies and a bachelor of science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania as well as an MBA from Wharton Business School and an MA in international studies from the Lauder Institute.
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: I have found BCG to be an incredibly supportive environment that has helped me to grow both professionally and personally. In London, I have some amazing principals and partners who have not only helped guide me in how to run a case (when I was transitioning from a consultant role to project leader) but have also helped me shape my vision of what I want my career to be.
Q: What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?
A: I recently transferred to Johannesburg from London for one year as part of BCG's Ambassador program. I chose Johannesburg because it offers exciting opportunities to help clients in a challenging and dynamic business environment. Furthermore, there is even more scope for our projects to create value for clients based in emerging markets, where the data is often limited or unreliable.
Q: What’s your home office environment like?
A: London is one of the most diverse offices in the BCG network. Not only do we have people from all around the world but we also have a high diversity of educational and professional backgrounds. We have professional actresses, ancient Greek scholars, business graduates and everything in between. On top of that, we have the British spirit of not taking ourselves too seriously and being able to enjoy time with colleagues outside of the office.
