Consultant, Buenos Aires
At BCG, Storytellers synthesize complex information and ideas. They believe in bringing the whole team together to get a broader perspective. Josue goes deep to understand challenges.
The best thing about BCG is that I have been able and was actively encouraged to contribute from day one. Ideas are judged not by whom they come from but rather how good they are.
I joined BCG straight out of college, looking to complement my technical background with business concepts, and couldn't be happier with my decision. I believe that BCG is a truly special place for three main reasons: it is a dynamic company, you can grow your career exponentially here, and you get to work with incredible people!
At BCG, no two days are the same. It is a fast-paced environment, where projects usually last three to six months. I have had the chance to gain experience across different functions in a wide array of industries, including financial services, consumer goods, and energy, to name a few. On top of that, good work is well rewarded: fast promotions and incredible development opportunities, such as MBA sponsorships and global trainings.
The best thing about BCG, however, is the people I get to work with: brilliant, eager to help, and very fun to work with!
Josue holds a chemical engineering degree from Instituto Tecnologico de Buenos Aires (ITBA) and will obtain his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working alongside incredible people who are very smart and excellent team players. They are the ones who encourage you to get better every day.
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: It has helped me incredibly by giving me the opportunity to challenge myself by exposing me to several industries and practices. It has allowed me to give presentations in front of packed auditoriums and develop analytical skills, and it has taught me a lot about the importance of delivering messages in the most effective manner possible. On a broader perspective, it has allowed me to pursue opportunities I never believed were within my reach, such as an MBA at a top ten business school.
Q: Can you give an example of a time in which your team really came together in a big way? Put another way, what’s the best team experience you’ve had?
A: We had a very good experience on a project in which we helped an Argentinean winery develop expansion routes for international markets. Our team was composed of people from the Buenos Aires, Santiago, and New York offices. Most of us weren't very familiar with the industry, but luckily we had an expert on the team! The team bonded really well and managed to work successfully despite half of the people being away from home. We delivered a lot of value to the client and had incredible fun doing it.
