Debbie Lovich

Partner & Managing Director

Developing Effective Leaders

Companies around the world spend more than $40 billion a year on leadership and talent development initiatives, but fall short in terms of returns on investment. BCG’s Debbie Lovich explains why this happens and how to address and overcome these challenges.

Debbie Lovich is a partner and managing director in the Boston office of The Boston Consulting Group and coleads the global Leadership and Talent Enablement Center (LTEC). The LTEC combines BCG’s understanding of client's goals, organization, and culture with deep expertise in delivering business results and insights into how to develop world class leaders.

As the Americas LTEC lead, Debbie works with her clients to build leader capabilities at all levels, from the C-suite down to front line managers. Her work includes:

  • Defining overall leadership and talent strategy to build the leaders and talent required to deliver business results
  • Designing and delivering accelerated leadership development programs to build required capabilities
  • Refining leadership and talent systems to reinforce and maintain desired behaviors

Debbie has worked on a broad range of issues for her clients, including sales force effectiveness, product, customer segmentation, and business strategy development and execution. In addition, she has extensive experience in postmerger integration across a variety of industries. The focus of Debbie's current practice is on driving business results for her clients through building the capabilities of their leaders and talent, and ensuring they have the talent systems in place to drive long-term impact.

Debbie also led the development and rollout of BCG's global PTO (predictability, teaming, open communication) program to improve BCG's culture and work-life balance. Debbie built and grew the program, leading an internal team that grew to almost 40 full-time consultants dedicated to the global rollout of this program. Today, PTO is a key factor in BCG's consistent ranking as one of the top companies to work for by Fortune.

Debbie has spent 20 years at BCG in a variety of roles, including head of consulting and administrative staff for the Boston office and member of the BCG Executive Committee.
