Makio Kitazawa

Makio Kitazawa has worked at The Boston Consulting Group since 1996. He is a core member of the Health Care practice and has worked closely with health care, financial services, and industrial goods clients. Makio also leads the Social Impact practice network in Japan and the Strategy practice for Japan.

Makio has expertise in many health care topics including health care in Japan, biopharma, R&D, hospital management, and generics sales and marketing; he also has experience working with clients in the banking industry.

He has worked with clients in the pharmaceutical and medtech industries, both in Japan and globally, on sales force effectiveness, postmerger organization assessment, cost synergies, performance enhancement, and other aspects of business development and strategy.

Makio recently helped create a cost optimization for several global leading med tech companies, and also developed an advocacy position paper for a med tech industry association on the subject of reimbursement and pricing.
