Masahide Ohira has been with The Boston Consulting Group since 2001. He leads the Operations practice in Japan and is a core member of the Energy and Financial Institutions practices. Masahide has worked with clients in the utilities (power&gas) , industrial goods, and financial services sectors.

Masahide has worked with clients on procurement (both direct and indirect)strategy and has developed special expertise in working with large Japanese utilities. He also has an interest in optimization and asset-backed trading. In several recent projects, Masahide has worked with Japanese utilities developing optimization and asset-backed trading frameworks as well as strategies for achieving organic and inorganic growth. He has also led workshops on these subjects.

In addition, Masahide has worked with clients in nonbank sector on lease and asset finance strategy, and he has developed special expertise in working with large Japanese leasing companies.

Before he joined the firm, Masahide worked for the Tokyo Gas Company. He speaks fluent English along with his native Japanese.
