Masao Ukon leads The Boston Consulting Group’s Corporate Development practice in South America, and he leads BCG’s Industrial Goods practice in Brazil. He is also a member of the Consumer, Financial Institutions, and Marketing, Sales & Pricing practices.

Since joining BCG in 2004, Masao has worked extensively with companies in a wide range of sectors, including automotive, transportation, and industrial goods. His client engagements have covered strategy portfolios, corporate finance, growth, acquisition target assessments, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. Masao also has significant experience helping companies address issues related to large transformations, turnaround, productivity, and operations.

He has coauthored several BCG reports, including Brazil: Confronting the Productivity Challenge and Brazil's Next Consumer Frontier: Capturing Growth in the Rising Interior.

Prior to joining the firm, Masao worked for General Motors, where he held positions in project engineering and in product development.
