Doris Michl is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Health Care practice and the practice’s global Scientist Network.

As a senior knowledge expert and team manager, Doris leads BCG’s European and Asian medtech-knowledge team and works as an integrated member of project and proposal teams.

Since joining BCG in 1997, she has engaged extensively with clients on strategies for market entry, positioning, portfolio completion, and marketing, as well as development of business models, due diligence, and postmerger integration.

Doris has deep experience in medical technology and pharmaceuticals, including vaccines. She also has experience in sectors such as generics and agrochemicals. She has been a coauthor of the Medical Biotechnology in Germany report, an annual joint publication of the German Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies and BCG.

Before joining BCG, Doris worked for two years as a postdoctoral candidate in Munich at the Gene Center and at Medigene, focusing on the production of viral vectors for gene therapy.
