Alex Koster is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Technology Advantage and Industrial Goods practice areas. Alex focuses on topics such as the Internet of Things, digital ecosystems and new business models, connected cars, autonomous vehicles, digital transformation, and capability build-up.

Alex’s clients include automotive OEMs, suppliers, high-tech and internet firms, mobility providers, private equity firms, and telecommunications and media firms across the globe. He has worked extensively with his clients on their large-scale digital transformation journeys.

Alex’s recent engagements include developing shared mobility concepts and business models, accelerating connected and digital car services, working on autonomous driving scenarios, and creating strategies around emerging platforms. He has worked with clients on defining the role and organization of chief digital officers, developing data strategies, defining and implementing a large-scale IoT program, and transforming digital customer engagement and related technology stacks. He has also co-authored several publications on this topic.

Prior to joining BCG, Alex was a Partner in the PwC subsidiary Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company), where he led the EMEA automotive digital activities and the Swiss business.

Alex is fluent in German, French, and English.
