Astrid Rauchfuß is a core member of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications, and Marketing, Sales & Pricing practices at Boston Consulting Group. Astrid’s work at BCG focuses on strategy and transformation for technology and telecommunications companies.
Astrid has worked with global and European telcos, IT service and network equipment providers, and software and cloud players, as well as IT distributors—with a focus on B2B. Her client work has covered cloud and IoT strategies, build-up of digital capabilities, and sales force/go-to-market transformations. Astrid is the global lead of BCG’s Telco B2B Growth Initiative.
Prior to joining BCG, Astrid worked at Lucent Technologies, Bell Laboratories (US).
B2B Telcos are facing strong headwinds to drive growth and differentiation in an increasingly commoditized and competitive market. Several trends represent both threat and opportunity for Telcos to grow in B2B: Changing customer needs, fast evolving technologies, new types of competitors, internal road blockers. Furthermore, entrenched complexity in products, systems and processes need to evolve to radical simplification, shifting to adjacent and new revenue streams and investing in Digitization. The opportunities for growth are strong for Telcos willing to embrace disruption and invest in new technology.
