Prior to his current role, Bjørn served as the global leader of The Boston Consulting Group's Operations practice and team leader for all of BCG's functional practice areas. He also served as the firm's chairman of Europe, Middle East, and Africa for nine years. In this role, he led the build-up of BCG in the Middle East and Africa and significantly strengthened the firm's market position in Europe.

Since joining BCG in 1989, Bjørn has worked across a broad range of industries throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and he has extensive experience leading large-scale operational-improvement programs.

He originally began working for BCG in Germany, and was later part of the team that founded the firm's Nordic practice. He also spent four years as a senior partner based in the London office.

Prior to joining BCG, Bjørn worked in the Nordic financial-services industry.
