Enrique Rueda-Sabater

Enrique Rueda-Sabater is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Global Advantage, Strategy, and Public Sector practices.

He is also a visiting Fellow at the Center for Global Development and teaches courses on scenarios and strategy at ESADE in Barcelona. He has been a regular guest lecturer at the London School of Economics and has lectured for academic, think tank, and business audiences in China, Europe, Latin America, Malaysia, and the US. Some of the lectures have covered his work on Scenarios for the World in 2020.

Throughout his career, Enrique has developed a wide range of analytical frameworks, led two major long-range-scenario projects, managed large teams, engaged in international negotiations, and provided strategic advice to public sector and nonprofit entities and to corporations. He has coauthored numerous publications, most recently three of BCG's Sustainable Economic Development Assessment reports.

Before joining BCG, Enrique was director of strategy at the World Bank and then at Cisco Systems (Emerging Markets). At the World Bank, he was senior manager of special programs and corporate risk management; senior advisor to the UN on financing for development; and senior advisor (strategy) to the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. His operational assignments spanned from Thailand to Tanzania, and from Mexico to Russia.

At Cisco, Enrique had three related roles: strategic analysis of opportunities across geographic markets (countries and cities); chief economist, advising the president of Cisco Emerging Markets and his team on prospects for and implications of global economic developments; and thought leadership on the potential of IT and network connectivity for economic growth, competitiveness, and social inclusion.
