Jan Dirk Waiboer has been with Boston Consulting Group since 1996, when he joined the Munich office; he has been based in BCG Moscow since 2009. He is a core member of the Industrial Goods, Operations, and Technology, Media, & Telecommunications practices; he is also active in transformation work in various other sectors, including energy and the public sector.

From 2001 to 2004, he was based in Prague and worked in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland. From 2004 to 2009, Jan Dirk was based in Amsterdam.

In the CIS region, Jan Dirk's primary focus is on asset-intensive industries and public sector transformation. He has deep expertise in petrochemicals, and he has worked with industrial clients in logistics and transportation—including ports, postal operators, and airlines. He has also worked extensively in operational improvement and organizational projects for telecom operators and ICT companies in various CIS countries His work in the public sector includes topics such as investment attractiveness, sector transformation, and industrial plan development.

Jan Dirk is now leading BCG's activities in Kazakhstan; he previously served as Head of BCG Russia & CIS.

Prior to joining BCG, Jan Dirk worked for Hunter Douglas, a Dutch multinational active in aluminum window covering and building products. During that time, he was based in Prague, working as country manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
