Shu Li is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice. He has acquired deep insight and experience consulting clients in high-tech industries, on issues including mobile, internet, cloud computing areas, and the internet of things (IoT).

Shu works primarily with clients on corporate and business unit strategy, marketing and sales, M&A and partnership, operations, process redesign, and organization restructuring. He has analyzed future trends in information and communications technology and provided strategic recommendations for a top global telecom equipment vendor.

He also developed a B2B growth strategy for one of the biggest Internet companies in China and designed and piloted channel strategy for a top global software company.

His projects include collaborating with a global leader in telecom equipment, for which he led projects in corporate strategy, R&D, business strategy, and change management. He has also led projects with digital players in China, focusing on tablet strategy, online gaming, business strategy, and go-to-market strategy. In addition, he has helped identify potential partnership needs in China for a global IT giant and has helped develop a partnership strategy to expand its new businesses in China in areas including cloud computing, big data, IoT, and artificial intelligence.

In addition, he evaluated new business opportunities in China for a leading global e-commerce company and developed a growth strategy and planning capabilities for a prominent online gaming company there. He contributed his expertise to BCG’s 2014 report March Ahead of the Competition through Word of Mouth: Applying the BCG Brand Advocacy Index to Technology, Media & Telecommunications in China.

Before joining BCG in 2011, Shu worked in management roles in a variety of high-tech companies, including Cisco Systems, Bain & Company, and UTStarcom. He was also a successful entrepreneur in the mobile internet sector.
