Sonja Baderschneider joined The Boston Consulting Group in 2008. She is a core member of the Consumer practice, focusing on retail, and a member of the Nordic Consumer practice management team. She is a topic expert in retail transformation, and she has acquired in-depth expertise in customer-centric concept innovation, category management, and cost-of-goods-sold optimization.

Sonja’s recent client work has included driving retail transformations and reshaping the strategic agenda for food and nonfood retailers—including  new-market-entry strategy, category portfolio strategy and concept reinventions, reduction of cost of goods sold, data-driven retailing, and lean store operations programs.

Prior to joining BCG, Sonja was senior vice president of corporate development and strategy as well as category management at a major German nonfood retailer. Sonja contributed to the 2014 BCG report Shock of the New Chic: Dealing with New Complexity in the Business of Luxury.
