Takuro Ueji leads Boston Consulting Group's Transform practice in Japan, and is a core member of the firm’s Industrial Goods and Operations practices.
Takuro is an expert in the transformation, turnaround, and restructuring of stressed and distressed companies. He has over 25 years of experience achieving dramatic improvements in cash flow, profitability, and enterprise value for clients. He works with senior executives, operational leaders, and shareholders to drive step-change improvements in operating and financial performance.
Takuro has worked with middle market companies and large global corporations, mainly in the industrial goods, auto parts, medtech, logistics, retail, energy and financial institutions sectors. He has also led companywide transformation, operational improvement, supply chain optimization, headcount reduction, direct/indirect cost rationalization, and liquidity management engagements.
Prior to re-joining BCG in 2019, Takuro was managing director at AlixPartners, where he spent ten years providing holistic turnaround programs for stressed and distressed companies. Prior to that he was with Vestar Capital Partners and Sanwa Bank. He previously worked at BCG from 2003 to 2007.
