Thomas Seidl joined Boston Consulting Group in July 2019. He is a core member of the Insurance and Corporate Finance & Strategy practices. Thomas focuses on helping insurance companies improve their capital allocation decision-making and effectively deal with a low interest rate environment.

Thomas has 30 years of experience along the entire value chain of insurance and reinsurance companies. Along with helping them improve value creation (TSR), he works with his clients on improving the effectiveness of the CFO function, and advises them on M&A and on technical topics such as pricing, underwriting, claims, and capital/risk management. Thomas has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations with the Insurance Institute of America.

Before joining the firm, Thomas was a Managing Director at Sanford C. Bernstein, where he built up and led a top ranked equity research franchise covering the UK/European insurance sector, and an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company where he built up and co-led the risk and regulation service line for European insurance. For seven years, Thomas was a member of senior executive management at Munich Reinsurance.
