Darwin Smith

Partner & Managing Director, Calgary Recruiting Director

Darwin is a Partner & Managing Director at BCG's Calgary office. He joined the firm in 2007. Darwin is a core member of BCG's Energy Practice, and has worked primarily in Energy and Industrial Goods across a variety of functions since joining BCG. He participated in BCG’s Ambassador program in 2010 where he spent a year working with clients in Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia. He has helped clients develop growth strategies, perform strategic due diligences for prospective acquisitions, and lead project management offices for business transformations. Darwin is currently based in Calgary where he is partnering with Ross to build BCG's presence in Western Canada. Darwin earned his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a Professional Engineer. Prior to joining BCG, Darwin worked as a Drilling Engineer for a Canadian oil and gas company in the UK, Yemen, and Canada.

Carmen Rendall

Talent Acquisition Lead

Carmen supports the Associate recruiting efforts for Ontario schools, as well as undergrad programs outside of Ontario. She is also responsible for Associate and Consultant recruiting for our Calgary office. Prior to working for BCG, Carmen worked in the legal industry and was most recently responsible for the management and coordination of campus recruiting and student programming at McMillan LLP. She graduated with Honours from the Law Clerk program at Humber College and began her career specializing in litigation and general corporate/commercial law as a law clerk. In her spare time, Carmen enjoys golfing, cooking and spending time at the cottage.

Adam Gordon

Recruiting Partner

Adam Gordon is the Recruiting Partner and Managing Director in BCG’s Toronto office. He originally joined the firm in 2005 as an Associate after completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce at Queen’s University. Adam’s consulting practice is focused on Travel & Tourism, specifically serving airlines on a range of strategy, commercial and operational topics. He also has significant experience working with industrial goods and private equity companies. Adam has served clients in Canada, the U.S., Europe and South America. He also spent two years at Qantas Airways in Australia as part of BCG’s Secondment program. Prior to joining BCG, Adam held positions at A.T Kearney as a Business Analyst and at Shaw Pittman in their Government Relations department. Outside of work, Adam’s interests include photography, scuba diving and travelling.

Victor Basu

Associate, Undergraduate and Master’s Program Captain

Victor joined the Calgary office as an Associate in 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction) with a major in Finance and a minor in Operations Management from the University of Alberta. Prior to joining BCG, Victor held internships in investment banking at RBC Capital Markets and marketing at Mitre Media. At BCG, Victor has case experience across a variety of industries, including industrial goods, technology, retail, and energy. Outside of work, Victor enjoys boxing, playing guitar and singing, and travelling.

Duncan Melville

Project Leader, MBA Program Captain

Duncan Melville is a Project Leader in BCG’s Calgary office. He joined the firm as a Summer Consultant in 2015 and returned full time in 2016. Duncan was promoted to Project Leader earlier this year. While at BCG, Duncan has worked across a variety of industries and topic areas but has most recently focused on projects in the energy sector. Prior to joining BCG, Duncan completed his law degree at the University of Toronto, worked in finance and completed an undergraduate degree in Mathematics at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Outside of work, Duncan likes to stay active and enjoys the outdoors, completing numerous half marathons, hiking with his family and playing golf.
