John Slaven

Recruiting Partner

John Slaven is a Partner in the New Jersey Office of the Boston Consulting Group. John holds a BSc. Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. John is a topic expert in Metals and Mining, having spent a combined 14 years in senior executive positions with BHP Billiton and Alcoa Inc, prior to rejoining BCG in October 2015. John had worked with BCG from 1992 through 2001, where his last role was as Partner in the Washington DC office. During his tenure, John led multiple client/consulting teams in a range of projects, including strategy development, measurement and management of value, portfolio management, corporate processes, mergers and acquisitions, etc., across several industries, including metals and mining, construction materials, chemicals, airlines and diversified manufacturing.

Prior to his initial period with BCG, John with De Beers, spent two years in the South African Navy. In his free time, John enjoys hiking, cycling and kite-boarding.

Cheyenne Lanzara

Recruiting Associate

Cheyenne Lanzara is a Recruiting Associate in the BCG New Jersey office. Cheyenne joined BCG in 2014 and leads the Associate recruiting efforts at Princeton University. Prior to joining BCG, Cheyenne worked at Insight Global as a Technical Recruiter and was promoted to the Account Manager of North Jersey. Cheyenne holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. In her spare time, Cheyenne enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling to exotic destinations and trying new restaurants.

Trap Yates

School Specialist

Trap was a Summer Associate in NYC before gleefully opting to move over to the greener pastures of New Jersey. He attended Princeton University and has a BA in History with a minor in Urban Studies. His case work at BCG has included research evaluation at a public university and cost-reduction strategy at major national retailers. Outside of case work, he's been involved in campus recruiting and winning case-team eating contests. In his free time, he likes to watch ambitious movies, listen to new music, and plan his meals out. This year, he’s hoping to learn how to do yoga properly.

Alexander Sappington

School Specialist

Alex began as an Associate in the New Jersey office, after graduating from Princeton University with a BA in Economics and minors in Applied Math, Finance, and Computer Science. His case work at BCG has included cost reduction, pricing, and general merchandising strategy at a national retailer, as well as operational strategy at a major airline. Apart from case work, Alex enjoys dining on fine steaks and crème brulée, and planning social events. Outside of BCG, he likes to play tennis, cheer for the Yankees, and watch girly TV shows on Netflix. His big aspiration for the coming year is to learn to cook something other than hot dogs.

Jimmy Royston

NAMR LGBT Recruiting Lead

Jimmy Royston is a Project Leader in the New York office. He oversees LGBT recruiting for BCG in North America, coordinating across schools and offices. He joined BCG in 2009 as an Associate, and has spent time working in the Washington DC and Amsterdam offices before moving to New York. He holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mirela Tzoneva

Recruiting Assistant

Mirela Tzoneva is a Recruiting Assistant in the BCG New Jersey office. She joined BCG in 2016 in a temporary role on the Learning and Development team and has since transitioned to a permanent position on the recruiting team. Mirela assists across Associate and MBA recruiting efforts for the New Jersey office and is leading the ADC recruiting process at Princeton University. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Florida State University and is currently finishing her Masters in Organizational Psychology at Montclair State University. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, traveling to new destinations, enjoying time with friends and family, and reading.
