John Slaven

Recruiting Partner

John Slaven is a Partner in the New Jersey Office of the Boston Consulting Group. John holds a BSc. Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. John is a topic expert in Metals and Mining, having spent a combined 14 years in senior executive positions with BHP Billiton and Alcoa Inc, prior to rejoining BCG in October 2015. John had worked with BCG from 1992 through 2001, where his last role was as Partner in the Washington DC office. During his tenure, John led multiple client/consulting teams in a range of projects, including strategy development, measurement and management of value, portfolio management, corporate processes, mergers and acquisitions, etc., across several industries, including metals and mining, construction materials, chemicals, airlines and diversified manufacturing.

Prior to his initial period with BCG, John with De Beers, spent two years in the South African Navy. In his free time, John enjoys hiking, cycling and kite-boarding.

Cheyenne Lanzara

Recruiting Coordinator

Cheyenne Lanzara is a Recruiting Coordinator in the BCG New Jersey office. Cheyenne joined BCG in 2014 and leads the recruiting efforts for the New Jersey Office. Prior to joining BCG, Cheyenne worked at Insight Global as a Technical Recruiter and was promoted to the Account Manager of North Jersey. Cheyenne holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. In her spare time, Cheyenne enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling to exotic destinations and trying new restaurants.

Alexander Sappington

School Specialist

Alex began as an Associate, and is now a Consultant, in the New Jersey office. He graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a BA in Economics. His case work at BCG has included transformation efforts at multiple national grocery chains, operational strategy at a major airline, and pricing work at two luxury retailers. Apart from case work, Alex enjoys dining on fine steaks and crème brulée. Outside of BCG, he likes to play tennis, cheer for the Yankees, and use the travel points he's accumulated on the job. His aspiration for the coming year is to learn to cook something other than hot dogs.

Henry Lu

School Specialist

Henry joined BCG as part of the New Jersey office's first-ever Summer Associate class, before returning as a full-time Associate. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E in Computer Science and a Certificate in Finance. His case work at BCG has included pricing and promotion work at a national retailer, integration support for a large-scale M&A deal, as well as end-to-end supply chain transformation and manufacturing optimization for leading global healthcare companies. Outside of case work at BCG, he's been involved in the Asian Diversity Network and was part of an internal project on the Future of Education. In his free time, he likes to play soccer, sample New York City's countless gastronomic delights, and watch just about every sport known to man. His big goal for this year is to slowly supplement his casual wardrobe with something other than free college t-shirts.

Jessica Pellegrino

Recruiting Assistant

Jessica joined the New Jersey office as a Recruiting Assistant after recently graduating from The College of New Jersey. Jess will focus on the recruiting process at Princeton University for undergraduates. She previously worked in the recruiting department at White & Case LLP., and interned in the HR departments at companies such as Six Flags and Ralph Lauren. In her free time, Jess enjoys traveling, playing the ukulele, and spending time with friends.

Jimmy Royston

NAMR LGBT Recruiting Lead

Jimmy Royston is a Principal in the New York office. He oversees LGBT recruiting for BCG in North America, coordinating across schools and offices. He joined BCG in 2009 as an Associate, and has spent time working in the Washington DC and Amsterdam offices before moving to New York. He holds a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
