Bruce Smolen

Talent Acquisition Senior Specialist

Bruce is a Southern California native and has recruited for the Los Angeles office of the Boston Consulting Group for the past fourteen years. During that time he has processed thousands of applications and helped recruit hundreds of consultants into BCG offices all over North America. In his free time he enjoys travel, woodworking, drawing, and writing.


Leo Tomlin

Recruiting Director, Associates

Leo is a Principal in BCG’s Los Angeles office. At BCG he has worked on go-to-market strategies, working capital release, and cost optimization and cost reduction in manufacturing across the technology and consumer sectors. Prior to joining BCG, Leo was a senior British Diplomat who served in various national-security-related positions. He developed the UK’s first international counter-extremism strategy and the UK’s draw-down strategy for exiting Afghanistan. Leo earned a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a BA in Political Science (High Honors) from UC Berkeley. In his spare time Leo enjoys spending time with his family, hiking in the Santa Monica mountains, and playing tennis.


Jeff Shiff

PRIDE@BCG Recruiting Lead

Jeff Shiff is a Principal in the Chicago office. He oversees LGBTQ+ recruiting for BCG in North America, coordinating across schools and offices. Jeff is a member of the Consumer practice and has done case work across a number of topics including growth strategy, consumer insights, pricing, and operations. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Goldman Sachs in both New York and Hong Kong. Jeff earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.


Jenna Mackenzie

GAMMA Recruiting Specialist

Jenna Mackenzie, GAMMA Recruiting Specialist who helps manage all GAMMA campus recruiting across North America. Jenna joined BCG in 2018 and sits in the Boston office. Outside of work, she enjoys painting and has even instructed a session for an affiliation event.


BCG Summer Sessions

June, 2021 - July, 2021 Virtual BCG Summer Sessions is a series of virtual talks through which BCGers will share insider perspectives on what it’s like to be an Associate at BCG. You’ll learn about the impactful work we do, our transformative digital capabilities, and the many opportunities, support systems, programs, and tools we offer to help our Associates learn, grow, succeed—and have fun!—at BCG. We’ll also share tips on the recruiting process and give you a chance to ask the questions most on your mind about consulting and BCG. If you are an undergraduate student at a school located in the US or Canada in the class of 2022, class of 2023, or class of 2024, we hope you’ll join us this summer!

Application Process

Full Time Associate Application Deadline

Are you graduating between December 2021 and June 2022 and ready to be an Associate at BCG after graduation? Please apply here by Friday, July 16th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET.

You will be asked to provide:

  • A resume
  • Your top 3 office preferences (weighted to reflect your level of interest in each)
  • A cover letter (optional—you may upload your resume twice if the system requires an upload and you do not want to submit a cover letter)
  • Cumulative GPA
  • Standardized test scores (ACT and/or SAT with subscore breakdowns)

If you apply to a US BCG office, you will receive an email inviting you to play the pymetrics games after you submit your application. These 12 neuroscience-based games provide insight into your cognitive and emotional attributes and your potential for success at BCG. The games take about 25 minutes to play, and you will have 48 hours to play them after receiving the invitation. For more information on pymetrics, please click here.
