At BCG, Allies bring a sense of collaboration and excitement to their teams. They create an atmosphere of trust and support in which people can do their best work. Alexandra connects the dots to see the bigger picture.
BCG keeps reminding me that growth can only be achieved by surpassing your limits, which comes with a lot of work and persistence. Although it’s sometimes exhausting, it’s unbelievably rewarding.
I studied philosophy and logic, and my background is in fast-moving consumer goods and retail, but I was drawn to consulting and especially to BCG for three main reasons. First, the people— great individuals who push you to be your better self every day. Second, the exposure and variety in everyday life—countries, projects, industries, teams. Third, the impact—we constantly try to bring value to our clients, and it’s amazing when the client can say, "What you did really mattered."
Alexandra holds a BSc in philosophy and logic from London School of Economics and an MBA from IESE University.
Q: When did you know you belonged at BCG?
A: When I had my first-round interviews, I left thinking, "I would love to work with these people" and "I really, really enjoyed the interviews.” And I confirmed it once I joined. BCG has a unique culture, and the BCGers I have met and are working with are truly inspiring people—humble, really driven, and with genuine care about the company, their colleagues, and our clients.
Q: How do you maintain a sustainable career balance at BCG?
A: Planning when you can and clearly communicating your personal "targets" with your team and project leader is crucial to maintaining a sustainable career balance. This is no 9 to 5 job, but it can be very flexible. If you manage to be OK with the deliverables and your responsibilities, there is always room for personal time. I often take a break to do sports and continue working afterwards, and my team respects it and encourages it. I also always find the time to be close to friends and family and travel, which I really love.
Q: What’s your home office environment like?
A: It’s what we call a "family office." There’s an amazing vibe and really great people. We have lunch together on Fridays, and we even organize after-office drinks and meet up outside work.
