Carmen Is a Imaginative Visionary

Managing Director & Partner, Los Angeles

At BCG, Visionaries navigate complexity with ease. They use their insight and intuition to identify the solutions that will create lasting impact. Carmen connects the dots to see the bigger picture.

What I care most about is reaching my full potential, learning as much as possible, and using what I learn to have a positive impact on people, businesses, and the community. And I cannot think of a place better than BCG to do so.

Carmen Bona

In Carmen’s Words

I'm originally from Madrid, Spain. I moved to Los Angeles five years ago to get an MBA and to "make it" in Hollywood or Silicon Valley. When I met the BCG TMT (technology, media, and telecommunications) team, I realized that this was the perfect opportunity for me to pursue my passion for media while learning about business from the brightest minds.

At BCG, I've worked on topics as varied as over-the-top TV, STEM education, and even an Olympic bid, engaging with senior executives from day one and helping shape the industry. I've had amazing global experiences, with projects across the US, Europe, Latin America, and APAC. More important, I've found numerous mentors and mentees who have challenged me intellectually at every step and become friends along the way.

What do you like most about your job?

I love how this job makes me better every day. Facing such diverse, business-critical topics across a wide range of companies pushes me to develop invaluable skills and acumen, as well as TMT expertise. My colleagues play a key role, sharing their knowledge and their own ways of thinking and tackling issues. It's so exciting to jump from one project to another and work with new partners/principals and consultants/associates. The diversity of the BCG family never ceases to amaze me.

What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?

I just spent four months in Sydney developing the five-year strategy for a leading media company, working hand-to-hand with their CFO. Apart from being a fantastic professional experience, this offered me an unexpected chance to explore Australia's wonders.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of the office?

Traveling! I've visited 57 countries and counting. Earlier this year, I took advantage of BCG's Time For You program and went on a three-month journey to Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, French Polynesia, and Tonga. Both in LA and when traveling, I like being outdoors and active: hiking, scuba diving, biking, playing tennis, and more.
