Project Leader, Milan
At BCG, Storytellers synthesize complex information and ideas. They believe in bringing the whole team together to get a broader perspective. Chiara finds clarity in a complex world.
A stimulating environment full of extraordinary people where you constantly learn from your peers and grow with them: this is BCG.
After a couple of years working for another consulting firm, I had the opportunity to be exposed to some people working at BCG. I was amazed by their drive and enthusiasm, which motivated me to make a change in my career. BCG seemed to be a heterogeneous, fast-learning, and stimulating environment: exactly what I was looking for.
After three years of daily interaction with extraordinary and diverse individuals, I can state that the people are what I appreciate the most at BCG. By staying curious and constantly challenging myself, I get the chance to learn every day—not only from senior colleagues but also from my peers, as we grow together.
Chiara holds an MBA from SAFM, Collège des Ingénieurs de Paris, and an MSc degree in industrial and management engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
Q: What is something that has surprised you about working at BCG?
A: I have been surprised by the working environment, which is extremely friendly and collaborative. Of course, sometimes we have to work under pressure, but my colleagues are always available to help me and provide any explanation or support I need. BCG also helps people achieve their ambitions, because the success of BCG is the success of its employees. For example, with the support of your career development advisor, you can create a personalized career path, identifying the practice areas, training opportunities, and international experiences that best fit your capabilities and preferences.
Q: What was one of your favorite case experiences?
A: I recently worked on a case for a major Italian fashion brand. The fashion industry is constantly growing and changing, and I was really excited to work in such a dynamic environment. This client in particular asked us to redefine the midterm strategy for the brand, looking at it from 360 degrees—from the structure of the offer (in terms of product and pricing) to the distribution and marketing. This allowed us to see the big picture of the business and to make a sizable impact on its performance.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of the office?
A: I'm a travel enthusiast, and since I started working for BCG I have managed to have a month of summer holidays every year to spend in some remote corner of the world. I also love doing sports, and I'm part of the BCG volleyball team. We train together once a week, and every year we compete against the other BCG offices in a worldwide tournament. Last year, we even won the championship! We really had lots of fun, and I'm looking forward for the next BCG tournament in Amsterdam.
