At BCG, Advocates are thoughtful and engaged. They listen closely because they believe that the best solutions can be discovered in the most unexpected places. Daisy has the courage to take action.
I learned at BCG that roadblocks are never the destination—and that regardless of perceived challenges, it is always our duty to soar.
I was attracted to consulting because it afforded a means to apply the analytical skills I had developed in college to solve real-life challenges. When the time arrived to decide where I wanted to begin my career, BCG stood out because of the authentic connections I had made along the way.
My experiences at BCG have taught me that it is possible to combine topics that matter to you with the content of your day-to-day. From leveraging my foreign-language skills to shape worldwide education policy, to generating meeting materials for leaders of multibillion-dollar corporations, I have been able to pursue several of my interests in ways I never before imagined, while contributing tangibly toward creating value for my clients.
What makes BCG truly unique is that we walk the talk that our people are our most cherished asset, and we thus endeavor to keep people development paramount. I have enjoyed learning and growing in my time here, and I look forward to a career of incessant learning, where I will forever challenge my definition of what's possible.
Daisy holds an AB in applied mathematics and global health from Harvard University.
Q: When did you know you belonged at BCG?
A: Before recruiting season started, I had a conversation with a principal at BCG. We were scheduled to speak for half an hour, and the conversation ended up lasting over an hour. We spoke about several things that she and I both truly cared about, and I felt as though we shared a real connection. In the moments after the call, I knew that if BCG was filled with people like her, then it was the place I wanted to belong. She inspired me to join BCG, and has been a mentor to this day.
Q: What are some of your volunteer or charitable work experiences?
A: I have been lucky to work on a social impact case in my time at BCG. Our team partnered with the World Economic Forum to shape thinking about ways of developing 21st century skills in countries around the world. Outside of casework, I joined a team of BCGers who spent a day teaching in a public school in Astoria, Queens. It was wonderful to connect with colleagues outside a work setting, and to contribute in a small way to the creation of positive learning experiences in the classrooms. The enthusiasm of the children we taught created renewed zeal and appreciation for the work we do every day.
Q: What inspires you about BCG?
A: I am truly inspired by the fact that everyone at BCG is committed to being the greatest versions of themselves. Continuous growth and improvement are not merely talked about but conscientiously cultivated, whether through case work or through the pursuit of individual passions. For our clients, this growth mindset means we are never satisfied with only the obvious answer, and that we keep searching for additional ways to create greater value. My time at BCG has truly reinforced the idea that excellence is not an act, but a habit.
