At BCG, Allies bring a sense of collaboration and excitement to their teams. They create an atmosphere of trust and support in which people can do their best work. Daniela goes deep to understand challenges.
At BCG, I’ve found inspiring role models all around me – I never stop learning from my colleagues, case team members, and clients, and I’m constantly in awe of the people I get to work with every day.
I joined BCG after business school, looking for the chance to discover new industries and solve interesting problems. I had some consulting experience before my MBA and a good idea of what the work was like, but I was amazed at how BCG does it - how well teams are structured, how much time is spent on personal development, and how motivated we are to deliver real value for our clients.
Looking back, BCG has exceeded my expectations in every way. I go home every day knowing that my work matters, and that the skills I’m learning will serve me for life. Most of all, I work with people who help one another because that’s just what we do, and have made lasting friendships with colleagues I deeply respect.
Daniela holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from INSEAD.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I really enjoy getting to know new industries, and experiencing how that changes my view of the world around me. Every case I work on opens up a wealth of knowledge behind the things I see every day, whether it’s luxury cars parked on the street or digital advertisements on a newspaper website. I don’t think you can get this exposure anywhere else, and it’s very exciting to learn about unfamiliar topics that then become part of my daily life.
Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG?
A: I chose BCG for several reasons, but fundamentally because I always felt like myself when I was around other BCGers – there was a feeling that just clicked. We have a very wide range of personalities and interests, and I love that there is no pressure to fit into a BCG “type.” We’re all ourselves and respect each other as we are, and I find that incredibly valuable.
Q: What's the biggest impact you have had with your work?
A: My first case was in health care, where my team supported a hospital transformation program for a leading UK specialist trust. As an engineer, this was a new world for me – and a privilege to get to know our health care system, hospitals, and doctors from up close. I worked with some of the best clinicians in the country to help the organization prepare for the future, and have seen how my work directly helps patients and staff. It was an incredible way to start my career at BCG and give back to my new country.
Q: What inspires you about BCG?
A: I love working with my teams and clients – no day is the same as the last, and it’s a great feeling to have all hands on deck when we’re working toward an important milestone. My clients are equally dedicated and very, very good at what they do, so the bar is already set very high. I find it incredibly rewarding to work shoulder to shoulder with people who know their industry inside and out, and to be able to support them as they work through their most important projects.
Q: What is something that has surprised you about working at BCG?
A: It surprised me how much support I was given at the beginning, and how kind my teams and managers were while I was learning the ropes. I was never without a helpful hand to work through a problem, or to handle a sensitive situation with a client. I had imagined I would be under pressure to prove my worth from day one, and instead found people who truly cared about my success and gave their time to help me grow in the best possible way.
