Daniel

In Daniel’s Words

I started my career studying computer science and expanded on that with practical experience in software development. Later, I joined BCG Platinion to connect the dots and see the bigger picture behind business and IT. My goal is to enhance my personal learning and to help our clients in the best ways possible.

From day one, BCG Platinion has enabled me to redefine IT strategies for institutions all over the globe—serving clients from Germany to Southeast Asia. I’ve experienced a wide range of client challenges, including shaping strategic decisions, detailing technical solutions, closing communication gaps between IT and business as well as between cultures, and influencing clients’ daily work. All of this is possible because of the amazing team spirit at BCG, where everybody's opinion is valued.

About Daniel

Daniel completed an apprenticeship as an IT specialist in application development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s in computer science from the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Regensburg, Germany. He studied abroad in Canada and New Zealand.

Q&A

Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG Platinion?

A: BCG Platinion provides a unique workplace that combines the best of management consulting and technical expertise. In my professional career, I was looking for an opportunity to bring in my technical expertise and connect it with the bigger picture going forward. At BCG, I found the place where I could achieve my goals.

Q: How do you get to utilize your unique skill set within a team?

A: Project teams at BCG combine people from many different backgrounds, including their case experience as well as their educational backgrounds. As an IT architect, I can bring in my technical experience to turn strategy into action.

Q: What inspires you about your work?

A: The thing that inspires me most at work is the opportunity to solve every problem that comes up, no matter how complex or hard it may seem. Working on it as a team in a hypothesis-driven mode, as well as challenging upcoming ideas (always with some openness to criticism), allows us to solve each problem in the end.

Q: How do you maintain a sustainable career balance at BCG?

A: Going out into nature helps me to free my mind. I often go for a run in the morning before work. And I enjoy hiking in the mountains with friends on the weekends.

Q: What are you reading right now, and why is it interesting?

A: I'm currently reading Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People. This is one of the books that everybody at BCG Platinion receives during their onboarding days. I have finally taken some time to start reading it. I can really recommend this book to everybody, as it contains 30 proven principles for enriching your personal and business life.
